Brenda est issue de la famille Shakarian, l'une des familles qui ont fui l'Arménie avant le génocide des années 1900. La famille s'est installée dans le sud de la Californie et a connu un grand succès dans l'industrie agricole. À une certaine époque, ils possédaient l'une des plus grandes laiteries privées au monde.
Le grand-père de Brenda, Demos Shakarian, a fondé le FGBMFI, une organisation mondiale à but non lucratif. Grâce à cette organisation, des gens d'affaires du monde entier ont transformé leur vie pour le mieux.
Brenda a grandi et fait ses études dans le sud de la Californie. Elle a toujours eu un cœur pour les gens et pendant ses études, elle a commencé à faire du bénévolat dans des refuges pour femmes battues. Elle a été invitée à conseiller les femmes et à travailler avec les familles en crise.
Après l'université, Brenda est devenue mannequin de haute couture. Grâce à son travail dans le mannequinat, elle a pu autofinancer une entreprise de vêtements. Elle a conçu et créé une ligne de vêtements appelée "Shakarian". La ligne a été vendue à travers les États-Unis dans des magasins haut de gamme tels que Nordstrom et le Las Vegas Hilton Hotel pour n'en nommer que quelques-uns. L'hôtel Hilton a déclaré que la ligne de Brenda, "Shakarian était la vente la plus rapide de tous les créateurs jamais réalisée dans leur magasin." Brenda a également créé des pièces personnalisées uniques à la demande de nombreuses personnes notables à Hollywood.
Tout au long de la vie de Brenda, elle a travaillé pour aider à créer des solutions pour les personnes dans le besoin. Elle a créé sa propre fondation pour les femmes et les enfants appelée "Love in Action". Grâce à cette organisation, Brenda s'est associée à de nombreuses entités, y compris des gouvernements locaux, fournissant des emplois, des bourses d'études, de la nourriture, des médicaments, de la littérature et des entraînements sportifs.
Forte de son expérience en Relations Internationales, elle a été embauchée pour apporter son expertise à l'asbl FGBMFI. Elle a occupé le poste de directrice des relations internationales pendant de nombreuses années. Elle a voyagé dans des dizaines de pays et a travaillé avec des dignitaires du monde entier.
Brenda a ensuite créé et a été la productrice exécutive d'une émission télévisée qu'elle a intitulée "No Borders". Le spectacle présentait les histoires personnelles extraordinaires de personnes du monde entier qui avaient surmonté des situations impossibles grâce à leur foi. Le spectacle a été vu aux États-Unis, en Amérique latine et en Europe. Brenda a été présidente de Ladies International pour le FGBMFI pendant de nombreuses années. Elle a également lancé des chapitres jeunesse pour l'organisation et travaille actuellement sur de nouveaux projets passionnants.
Brenda’s Grandfather, Demos Shakarian, founded FGBMFI, a global nonprofit. Through this organization people from around the world have transformed their lives for the better. Although multitudes of people have said both privately and publicly that she carries the anointing of her grandfather; she is humbled by this. Brenda believes that we are to serve and not be served.
Brenda grew up and was educated in Southern California. She always had a heart for people and during her education, she began to volunteer at battered women’s shelters. She was invited to counsel the women and work with families in crisis.
After college, Brenda went on to be a high fashion model. Through her work in modeling, she was able to self-fund a clothing company. She designed and created a clothing line called “Shakarian.” The line was sold throughout the United States in high-end stores such as Nordstrom and the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel just to name a few. The Hilton Hotel stated that Brenda’s line, “Shakarian was the fastest sellout of any designer ever carried at their store.” Brenda also created one-of-a-kind custom pieces by request for many notable people in Hollywood.
Throughout Brenda’s life, she has worked to help create solutions for people in need. She established her own foundation for families in crisis called, “Love in Action.” Through this organization, Brenda partnered with many entities including local governments providing jobs, scholarships, food, medicine, race relations, and sports training. Through these community programs, Brenda leveraged her relationships with influential business people, business owners, and community leaders along with world-class athletes and celebrities.
In South Central Los Angeles, Brenda was working with the ‘bloods’ and the ‘crips’ working to create better options for them. The city soon recognized the level of risk she was taking and appointed a gang mediator to assist her and her efforts in her community programs.
With her experience in International Relations, she was hired to bring her expertise to the non-profit organization FGBMFI. She served as the Executive of International Relations for many years. She traveled to dozens of nations and worked with dignitaries from around the World. She also worked with Ambassadors, Mayors, City Officials, Councilmen, Secretaries of States, and Presidents of Nations.
Brenda created and was the Executive Producer for a television show that she called "No Borders.” The show featured the extraordinary personal stories of people from around the world who had overcome impossible situations through their faith. The show was seen throughout the United States, Latin America, and Europe. Brenda served as FGBMFI, President of Ladies for many years. She also started the youth chapters for the organization and grew the women’s chapters throughout the world. She continues to speak globally bringing a message of hope and healing. She has seen many miracles, healings, signs, and wonders in her meetings.
Family is incredibly important to Brenda. She is the mother of two beautiful children, Brianna and Blakeland.
